Come From Away
COME FROM AWAY is the stunning new musical that played record-breaking engagements in La Jolla, Seattle, Washington, DC, and Toronto, to critical acclaim and cheering audiences. Written by Canadians Irene Sankoff and David Hein and directed by Tony-nominated director Christopher Ashley, COME FROM AWAY is currently playing on Broadway, West End, Toronto, National Tour and Australia. Co-produced by Radio Mouse Entertainment (which is co-owned by Jason E. Grossman)
Based on a true story, COME FROM AWAY is about the small Canadian community of Gander, Newfoundland, where 38 planes filled with passengers from all over the world were forced to land when U.S. airspace was closed on September 11, 2001. The tiny town’s population doubled in an instant, but the spirited Newfoundlanders opened their homes to those who had “come from away,” as locals and visitors cared for and comforted each other during a dark time.
COME FROM AWAY is an utterly unique and moving tribute to human kindness, with a gorgeous Celtic-Rock score and tales full of heart and humor.
